Hi,

The mini I have at the moment has an auxiliary water temperature gauge which reads in degrees. Just wondering what the normal range of temperature is for a 1275? It sits between 100-110 degrees when in traffic and motorway driving. It has an electric fan but theres a wiring fault I'm trying to solve at the moment

Cheers

Generally   approx 120 degrees at 14lbs pressure with coolant mix  is about boiling point.  So for me 110 is too close to danger territory.  A well sorted cooling system  with an 82 degree thermostat will only rise to 95ish in traffic.  on the motorway normally it would remain cool unless it is working its backside off. ( no fan needed , all that cool air is pushing past it)

but, gauges can be quite inaccurate, and a lot of people work on the zones rather than the numbers, they know it sits in the bottom third of the dial if cool etc.  So does it have a mechanical fan also?,  I would give the primary cooling a check.

I think the gauge in there is a TIM one, its a mechanical water gauge. It has a mechanical fan yes, I'm gonna try sort the electric fan tomorrow and get it running to see if it makes a difference.
