I cannot cut a slot in the head because the pedal box in the way therefore i cannot get a junior hacksaw in. I can get a spanner on the nuts behind but they are extremely tight (im actually assuming they are captive or welded hence why they wont undo).
Any suggestions? Im thinking i might just send it back and use the shitty normal bracket.

use mole grips or failing that, nice sharp chisel and knock it on the edge to turn it round...

nuts are captive you need to take your time and tap the left over bolt round using a very sharp cold chisel , i myself tack welded using a mig a bolt onto it and slackened/removed it that way

I simply undid mine as whoever put them in didn't bother to shear them off!

The nuts are not captive as such. well they are, but they're on a plate. This means you only need to remove the head of the bolt, pull the plate out, THEN you can get somethign on the remaining threads in the plate- which is a lot easier.
Just use a drill up there, that's what i did. It's not easy to keep the drill centre while working upside down, so have a hammer and chissel ready to the head off with just incase you go offcentre.
Hope this helps.Steve.

High speed grinder with a carbide burr. Works every time. The chisel will work as well.
