Sorry for the double post, I ment to put his here and not in the projects section as I have not bought or started anything yet.

I am looking into building a mini z kit with the hayabusa engine.

If I start with a full kit and the subframe kit what else do I need? What year mini donor car do I need and what is reused from the donor? What condition doors the donor need to be in?

Also, I really like the idea of the motorcycle engine but was wondering how they work out for events like Autocross.  I would autocross this car about a dozen times a year and hit the track 1 or 2 times a year at most.

Thanks,

Kenny

I have autocrossed mine a few times.  The clutch is pretty tricky, to get good hard launches with out snapping the chain.  I put a needle valve in my clutch line I can adjust for bleed down time to give me a smooth launch with side stepping the clutch.  If you need one down the road let me know.

Where abouts in America are you?

I have also put this on the other post but in the spirit of double posting :D

HI Kenny

If you start with the full kit you will need an Engine (obvious I know), engine wiring loom or the loom from the bike needs a little work to make the engine run

you may also need replacement wheels as our brake will only fit behind 13" rims and not all brands of them will fit, I would recommend replacing the cars own chassis wiring loom as part of the build as they are getting older and wasn't the best in the world when they were new.

the  new brakes and clutch will require new lines and the Hayabusa requires a replacement clutch master cylinder

from the mini you will reuse the front uprights steering rack (although we do offer a better column but this is an option and the original one will work) and the front brakes from your car can be reused (again we offer an upgrade 258mm disc with a four piston calipers but the originals will work to a degree) you can use as much or as little of the interior as you wish and although many people change the seats you can use the originals

the donor car should be as good as you can find for your budget as this will save you work elsewhere however you will cut out almost all of the back half of the car and approx. 2" around the wheel arches so there is a lot of scope in what the donor car could be

if you would like any more info feel free to email me [email protected] or you could call if you would like to chat
