I'm doing up a mk1 Morris mini and the is a button buy the hand brake, and haven't got a clue what it is for, could it be a starter button or anything else??

early mk1s had a floor starter button, mounted on a round bulge on the floor...

yeah it will be the floor starter.    mine dont work either!  :gimme:

Some mk1s had a floor mounted starter switch next to the handbrake - so it could well be that.

Yes its the starter button a classic feature of early Mini's and now back in fashion on new cars! :lol:

If it is working make sure the terminals/cables underneath the car can't touch the exhaust.....early exhausts have a slight bend in to give extra clearance.

Thank you everyone, thought it might be, but was unsure, you are right about them coming back into fashion!!! Back to the swinging 60's!!!
