Anyone had any success at this?

Its a ford ka one(not mine)

Only tried normal superglue and loctites 'rear view mirror adhesive' thing but to no avail

What do they use at the factory?

you could try numberplate tape or even a hot glue gun if you never want it to come off again.

They use an epoxy that is very similar to the Loctite consumer type.  I've used that successfully in the past, you have to follow the instructions exactly including the temperature of the glass.  It's much stronger than any hot glue, which will soften quickly when the car is in the sun.

ive done this, fitting a MGF mirror to my mini. You can buy a tube of stuff from halfords specifically for this. I had to do it twice as i was too keen to hang the mirror and it fell off.

As Dan says, temperature of glass is key also.

I bought the loctite rear view mirror kit from halfords is this what you mean?

Maybe the glass was too warm seen as summer has arrived

Might have to buy more and try again :/

Edit: this stuff

thats what i used. followed directions, avg warm day, held it hard onto screen for about 3mins and then left it 48hrs. my car was unused for that 48hrs so didnt see any variation in temps from driving/heating etc.
