My front to rear brake line needs replacing. it is badly corroded where it bends up from underneath to the front bulkhead, the other end isn't that much better.

My question is whether or not I have to drop the rear subframe slightly or is there enough room. I have had a quick look but not sure how tight it is.

The car is a 98 MPI but this is not an MPI particular problem.

Just to tell you, I have ordered a ready made line, so its the unf threaded part I need to wiggle through the tiny gap.

I assume its replacement Kunifer pipe not steel? its can be done but its very tight, few years since I did one and at that time I fed the pipe up behind the subframe and then flared the pipe, but your beyond that option with a ready made pipe.

It can be done, but is not easy. Patience is the major skill required. You can lever the subframe back slightly on its mounting rubbers to gain maybe a couple of mm, which may help.

Be sure to tape up the end of the pipe, or it will get muck in it while you are feeding it through.
