As my car has a fast road retro look to it, and the interior, while period, is not original, I thought I would add some 60's/70's retro racing accessories :) (I also like funky and different additions that are not often seen) I have one of those chrome Smiths map lights on the way, the ones found in the rally Coopers, and then saw a picture of a set of twin Smiths stopwatches mounted to the dash of another classic car (think it was a Porsche) and they looked great, very retro. Ive never seen it done on a Mini, and my aim is to do it for less than £50. There are a few sets on ebay at the mo for silly money, like these:

or these for slightly less:

I also think I can make them look better, I plan to mount them on a polished aluminium plate, possibly engraved with "Smiths" and their logo.
Ive just bought one stop watch, this:
for £13 posted. I may remove the top ring (for a neck string). Its standard 2" diameter and mounting brackets can be found cheaply for this size of watch, so to of those are on order too - this model of stopwatch seems to come up fairly regularly on ebay (about 2 a month looking at finished auctions) so now all I have to do is wait for a matching one to be listed!
They will probably be mounted on the glovebox lid (walnut dash) as they were operated by the co-driver :)
