I'm just stripping the car out to get it ready for a respray but first it needs a little bit(I wish :teehee:) of welding, mainly new floors and sills. I'm also going to be taking out both of the subframes to give them a clean and also paint.

Is it easier to weld new floors and sills(as one piece front to back, each side separate) with the front subframe in or out of the car?

I would have thought out the car, as if it is a bare shell you can put it on a jig if funds allow

i,m doing similar myself, and chose to keep the sub frame in, just to make sure i didn't distort the heel board, it maybe being abit windy and add abit of time to the job, but i figured its far better that than crabbing down the road......
