Mpi - Strange Immobiliser Behaviour & Not Starting

Best Answer CCX , 24 July 2013 - 02:50 PM

sounds like it could be the starter/soleniod

It turned out that the problem was with the starter motor - there was just enough corrosion on it to cause the erratic immobiliser behaviour that I'd seen and to prevent the engine from starting.

Thank you very much to everyone who offered their advice! I really appreciate it.

I had suspected this earlier. Thanks for your comment, I'll add this to the list of things to check.

No I haven't been able to do anything yet unfortunately. I'm really busy with other things for the moment. I assure everyone that I will post again when I've been able to have a look at the car and let you know how I got on. Sorry I haven't been able to try things out for a while.

Thanks again everyone for your help.
