3 hours ago i just purchased my first ever Mini - 1991 City 1000 Auto (i can only drive automatics) and already got waved at by a fellow mini owner 
. I will probably be on here lots over the coming months, but have some particular questions to ask first...
- Is it normal for the Speedo to bounce so much under 30mph?
- Is it normal to have an immediate hatred for 'so called' BMW minis or is that just me?
- What are the first things i need to make sure are sorted - i will go through the brakes, do an oil change etc... but is there anything else i need to sort or make sure is sorted?
Also - i bought the car and did everything i was meant to - HPI check, MOT certs all match and body work is in great condition, but as i only have a 2011 Golf to compare it too, i wondered if there was any Leeds based Mini owners who would have a look over it. This would put my mind at ease as well as provide an opportunity to meet some fellow owners.

Like i said, i'm sure i have loads of questions to ask and the Mini Sport Catalogue is already on it's way.
