You can't buy the plug new - you'll have to steal one from an old loom...
As for the tacho - do you have digital ignition...? You need the right type to work with it if you do...

You have one spade terminal which is negative from the coil and a needle connector which is +ve feed, did you connect them correctly?

Yep they both got connected up as they should be and the needle didn't even move....so i then checked with a multi meter and had power which is why im so stumped
Flash the wire to the coil negative to ground quickly - the gauge needle will respond. If it doesn't, it's the gauge that's the problem.

you may be in luck, i have the large connector with snipped wires that came with a secondhand clock i have purchased.
you want it. theres not alot of wire on the connector but im guessing 10-20mm, which should be ok to crimp your new bits to.
pm me if you want it.

British Standard Wiring Colours will apply so yes it a case of joining them up, do you have the wiring diagram fir the car? if so just see where the colours go to give you a idea, shout back if your stuck I'm only 5 miles away.

ok so i am not not the biggest idiot on this planet and have managed to wire in the plug and all seems good apart from a few things
1.tempreture gauge on the new clocks is not working but i have never had a problem with the old one
2.fuel gauge always reads full my old one did this so im gonna change the sender unit...is this right or not
3.rev counter will not work and this i am stumped on,i have wh/bk and L gr/or are these the right colours and neither have a bullet or spade in them but which ever way i try them i get nothing.
4.also i have noticed when i switch on the lights i get no illumination in the dash
5. when headlamps are turned on the engine starts to labour
6.rear side light fuse keeps blowing
apart from that im on to a winner lol... cheers
