Is there an easy way to remove the needle bearings from the front suspension top arms? I'm just stripping a pair to rebuild for my project, i know theres a special tool but is there another way? I'm trying to use a punch to knock them out but its very difficult as you cant really get a punch onto them properly, if you know what i mean.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Blind hole bearing puller is the correct tool and the only one ive ever had succes with. Other than that i think some people have cut them out.

I held them in a vice and used a long straight (not flared if you know what i mean) screwdriver. Took some patience, but I got there in the end.

I had to do 4 of these ruddy top arms last year :0(

they need to be in a vice, if you use a long flat screwdriver poked through one end sometimes you can tap the other bearing out. usually the screwdriver destroys the bearing case and all the needles will fall out but that helps you get a better 'grip' and eventually you may be lucky. probably you won't be, as they are usually stuck in there > this is where a dremel or similar unit with a grinding stone will be handy > you can gring away one complete side of the housing and it will fall out. this worked very well for me and have had no problems since its been fitted up and on the road.

Thankyou people, very helpful.

Still havent got round to doing it but will do soon. I have a dremmel 'copy' so that may be the easiest, less stressful way.
