It had the 1275 in when i bought it. Definitely wait the 2 months before you renew it with the bigger engine but for now just ring up and tell them and there will probably be a one off payment for the bigger engine :)If be driving round with invalid insurance for 2 months tho :-S the engines pretty much already in

Would have been a good idea to phone your insurance & ask what the difference would be before having it changed !

Well I'm having a lot of body work done there too at the same time, if they change the engine they can provide me with a headed letter to confirm it, which I need for when I send my log book offWhat do you mean?having it done at my local mini garage due to all the log book hassle !!

I'm with miniman here, always better to ask first before doing. The last thing you want is the insurance company to turn round and say no we cannot insure you.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

To be honest you will probably be ok, the original quotes we got for my son between a 998 and 1275 was the same premium but an increase in how much excess you would have to pay.
This was a couple of years ago and things have changed with insurance companies since then.

Happy days, always better to declare and run legally than being caught out. £36 is a good shout and very affordable.
