I have a matching pair of Speedex 100mm gauges for sale (click for bigger pics):
170mph Speedometer, classic mini screw on fitting - works with a mini centre binnacle speedo cable. Approx 1000TPM, so based on things like http://www.guess-wor.../Tech/ratio.htm there should be speedo drives to get pretty close on most minis. Tested and working, no bulb or bulb holder.
8k RVI Revcounter, tested and working. With brand new bulb holder and bulb.
Condition as in the photos, the faces and glass on both are very good, the bezel on the rev counter has been repainted, the bezel on the speedo is showing a few marks.
Both are Stewart Warner gauges branded Speedex. Speedex was the company formed by Jem Marsh, of Marcos fame, in the 50s and 60s - see http://myweb.tiscali...edex/index.htm. Despite the fact that revcounter is an RVI one, the gauges are probably from the period in the 80s when Marcos cars were having a bit of a dip and Jem Marsh revived the Speedex name. The phone number on the gaues matches the one on an 80s catalog: http://www.swissmarc...og_Backsite.pdf and http://www.swissmarc...r_from_Jem.pdf.
NB The speedo TPM is approximate, and comes from comparing the speedo to an uncalibrated mini 1248 TPM speedo. 1000TPM is fairly normal for an aftermarket gauge, and for one of US origin, so it's likely to be right, but it would really want an exact TPM working out for choosing speedo drive gears.
NB The revcounter is *RVI*, NOT the more modern RVC, and as it stands it will work fine with a dizzy and points (I've tested it on mine with and Aldon yellow) but will NOT work with any kind of electronic ignition (and might damage some). RVI gauges can be converted to RVC (diy or there are places that will do it, and refurb the gauge at the same time), or a common mod is to transplant the workings of an RVC revcounter into an RVI body.
Looking for £50 for both.
