Got the head ready to go on after fitting the new water pump and discover that the head has no bypass fitted. Is it ok just to block it off?
What issues if any might this cause me?

Block the bypass in the water pump to blank it off

Remeber to drill the thermostat to complete the conversion.

I understand blanking off the pump as per the pic but what do mean about the thermostat?

You need coolant flow when the thermostat is closed.

Two ways to do this, you can have a sandwitch plate with a bypass to the heater, or simply drill two 1/8 holes in the thermostat.

Right I'm with you. I have the sandwich plate already as its a '94 Sprite. Thanks for that.
