Insurance age limit.

hi All, can anyone tell me what age for a mini to qualify for classic insurance
I know it's 1973 for the tax, help needed please.

THIS might give you an idea, but I suspect that as with most insurance things, policies vary from company to company.

Basically, if your car is 10 years old, it qualifies. There are however "modern classic" policies which I suspect (but don't know) cover cars of a younger age.

Time to break out the phone book methinks.....

mines a 1999 and I get classic insurance with lancaster classic insurance

I have a second car and got full no claims

i have a 1990 cooper with stage 1 kit and modded head , big wheels and arches and 1/2 leather seats with wood dash

i pay around the £200 mark fully comp as a second car garaged in cornwall with me being 33

so yours is about right

so yours is about right



I'm 25 now driving a 1275 sprite with bucket seats, body kit, stage one and some more stuff all told to performance direct and they are charging £350 full comp with protected no claims. Tis the first time a could afford to pay it off for the year. Should have got a standard 998 on something like a F plate as it would have cost a very good £150odd for the year.

The general rule of thumb for a classic car policy is car over 10 years old or No longer in production.

I love classic car insurance...!! :thumbsup:

Seriously, I think we have more threads dicussing how much each person pays for insurance than we have members.

as you can see im new to the forum just thought I would ask before I paid over the top
for my Insurance as my last classic car was a morris 1000 £55.00 F/comp.
