Looking good..!

I am just about to do a similar thing to a friends car this coming weekend..!!
Only instead of the fibreglass front I have been trying to convince him to let me do a 1 piece steel front
but one that lifts like a normal mini bonnet, i.e. lift the front of the bonnet up rather than lift the back and flip it forwards..only this one will lift the front panel and wings, and be supported by Hydraulic rams..

He is a bit weary about it as it is a very original car.....!! will let you know how it goes...!!

Cheers, the problem I am facing with mine is that it lines up on one side but there is a gap between the A panel of 2 inches on the other. I am going to a bit of trimming to see if I can line her the front a bit better. If not I will be doing a solid steel flip front with detachable bonnet. Just pricing the panels up at the mo, just in case : (.

superb work. took me a best part of a month to fit mine. was never happy with the fitment. mine was a 2 piece front but i also had the problem with one side being slightly longer than the other! heres how it looks now. yours should look alot better with some paint on it!

Alrite Joe, I was going to email you some update pics. Yeh gotthe front end looking better, still needs a nip ad tuck here and there but I am going to get the car sat right first and go from there. The main thing why the front end was not lining up was the oil cooler getting inthe way so a quick trim on the front gave me more room and to be honest its looking a lot better.

Just got to weld another tab of the a panel for the dzus fasteners, wire the front up and I am fully done, ready for an MOT after I swapped my tyres of course :w00t:

Steve your looks spot on mate.

thats a well good fit youve got there. when the front end starts going on my red mini again, i think i want to put a fliup front on that! the panels are non genuine on mine and don't mine up very well, maybe that could be something in the near future!!

cheers dougie! dave heres how i adapted my hinges. got the ones from mini speed along with the front and bars, but the hinges they sent were straight! doh! just abit of bending here and there and they went on. also driled a line of holes down the front to get the right angle.
