if you feel under the door you will be able to feel the drainage holes also the two outer ones normally have a lip on the door step. line the cuts up with them

You might be right about there not being a door drain in the centre, I haven't checked mine in a while. I don't think there's a dimple in the doorstep (as Miniboo described) in the centre so that probably means there isn't a drain there. Just check that there isn't one where the seal is joined as it will leak through the join if water does collect above it.

Right I've bitten my tongue long enough.

The door seal has absolutely nothing to do with the drain holes in the bottom of the doors. The seal is nowhere near the drain holes for a start. The seal acts upon the inner edge of the door just below the door cards, the drain holes are on the outer edge of the door where the skin is folded over. The drail slots in the seal is at the bottom to let air out when the seal is compressed, think about it, how can water get into the hollow part of the seal which requires holes to let it out again ;D . The holes are at the bottom to prevent the water getting in and let air out, if they were at the top then water would get in and not get out.

If you have fitted new seals and the door is in contact with it all the way round, which can easily be seen from inside the car, and water is stil getting into the car, then the water is coming from somewhere else. The most likely place this is, is the bottom weather strip on the outside of the door window. If this is not incontact with the window water will freely run down the window into the door. Depending on where it drips off the window it can and does run down the plastic cover between the door and door card resulting in water getting into the car. If there is water sitting in the top of the seal at the bottom of the door, this is your problem.

If its not then its coming from somewhere else

I have the T shirt :errr:

BAH!

He's right of course. I guess I just made the connection between the slots in the seal and the grooves in the doorstep lining up with each other and got the wrong result.

Sorry chaps.

(I was right about there being a drain in the middle of the door though, it's in that picture!)

I'm dragging up this old thread because having had my car apart and put back together with new seals everywhere (including inner and outer door glass seals), the same thing happens :-

Water is getting into the door in a big way, so I am pretty sure the outer door glass seal thing is not working. They seem to sit up against the glass fine so I dunno what else I can do...I bought them from Mini Spares. Any ideas?? Please!
