Head Bolt Fouling

i have a 11 stud S head, the problem i have is the bolt on the side of the head next to heater valve is fouling on the rocker cover, i have he correct S bolt on he thermostat housing side and have cut pockets into lip of cover but still fouling. i guess his bolt is not a special?

What size is the stud? the lip on the standard S cover has a fairly deep cutout and as far as I'm aware the one nearest the heater take off was the same size as the other 9 and the thermostat end just had a special size thinner bolt. Didn't think it was possible to put anything bigger that the special bolt ?

it needs to be a short thread that end that goes through to water pump you can install it then grind of excess and then put some hylomar on the threads as water will seep up thread and weeken head gasket..... :proud:

thanks dave i have the correct bolt as shown on the link on the thermostat side and a standard bolt on heater take off so cant see why there is a problem.

i have ordered the castle type nut and try that. the cover is the standard mini-spares item.
