Hi guys,

I'm trying to find a diagram of the 1976 F1 track at the nurburgring, is it the same as the current one?

I've got this one;

10982.jpg

Is this the correct one?

It's not massively important that I get it right, but it's a matter of pride that I don't mess it up and use the wrong track layout as it's the kind of thing I'd scoff at if I saw it!!

The 1976 German Grand prix was held on the 22km North Loop, the new Nurgurbring circuit you have pictured was built in 1984.

That's the one. :-) It remains almost entirely unchanged to this day.

I presume you are studying this based on the Nicki Lauda and James Hunt battles of this time? and Nicki's near fatal crash there in '76? There has been a surge of popularity for this era of Grand Prix racing since the production of RUSH :-)

Well this is for work, but I have been reading a lot more about it. My childhood was spent watching 90's F1, so that for me was the golden age, but throughout the whole of 60's and 70's there was some amazing racing and some amazing people.

I recently read 'Go Like Hell' which is about Ferrari and Ford at Le Mans. It's a great book, I'd really recommend it.
