hi i have 1993 mini rio,i have not used the car for 6or 7 mounts left whit no fuel then i changed plug cables oil filter and oil and now it starts but onse i try to rev it or go for drive works for few minutes,and then starts cutting and engine vibrates,if i leave it work on low revs its ok,can somone tell me what shoud i do.

Check the points and condensor unless electronic and then check the plugs replace as required and then try again, if its still not correct check for fuel delivery to the carb float bowl, check for dirt in the float chamber and also the needle valve for a blockage, then check for a blockage in the jet assembly. Current fuels go off if left and a tune up carb clean should sort your problem out

^^^^ I'm guessing he has a float bowl full of rusty gunge. I'd add to your comment and suggest to add an inline throw away fuel filter for a while.

Your location is set as London, can you clarify? Our workshop is in Dartford so maybe not too far away?

 

Try the stuff suggested already and make sure you have fresh fuel.

 

The other thing to check is if there is oil in the dash pot. If not, your car could give symptoms as you describe.

ok there is what i have done,clean the carb very well every single hole,filter to fuel is coming from the pump,i have changed the ignition bobin and steel same,it stars and work fine onece i pick up revs starts to cut out and even gos off.On top of all now i have seen that the brake presure valve is leaking when brake.i chect and it coast 90 pound so if someone have one for sale or know wher to find second hand.

ok guys i fix it it was the pipe that goal from carb to the filter under wheel arch,filter is blocked,when i took the pipe out start working as new.thanks to all
