hi was just seeing if anyone knows the difference between 998 and 1275 gearboxes as my mate knows of a short 1275 ill be going to look at.

i got a spare 998 box i can rebuild but dunno if it would fit or not or if i got to find a 1275

i plan on doing a full rebuild on both the engine and box which should be fun as plan on playing a lot with it as its just a weekend car

cheers

Jordan

I have used a 998 box on a 1275. I swapped over the drop gears so all came from the 1275, I think you need to do that but I am not certain. Otherwise there were no problems.

Basically there are no differences, except that different models have different final drive ratios.
