I presume that you are using a copper washer, or two if using a banjo? Get new washers if necessary.

I had problems with a banjo fitting on a cheapo pattern clutch slave, there was a lump of bare cast metal that had not been fully machined off whuch prevented the copper washer from sitting flat, a quick bit of fettling with a fie, some emery cloth and finally an oil stone had it sorted. You will probably get away without using the oil stone, i only did it because i had one to hand from flatting off a heater take-off plate earlier in the day.

If your copper washers are a little pitted you should get away with flatting them off on emery cloth or an oil stone.
