Hi folks having removed the radius arm (with much advice off here) i noticed the previous owner had not attempted to fit the gaiter over the knuckle cup so the knuckle was totally devoid of grease and the gaiter had clearly being in contact with the handbrake retaining clasp below the arm.The knuckle cup appears to have a rebate running around it on the inside,im needing to order some new gaiters and dust covers but arent sure if cups and gaiters are the same as whats on the front hi/lo knuckles??.Cheers folks.

Thanks i'll take a look,it was the rebate in the cup that threw me but im guessing due to no grease and a ball joint gaiter instead of a proper original part probably allowed some grit in which i guess may of caused the scoring to the inner cup. Thanks again

When you come to fit the new cups and covers you may need to make yourself a small tool to fit the cover over the cup.
Make sure the ball end is tapped home into the cup properly. These can sometime appear fully in but looks can be deceiving. This then may give the rear suspension the off road look.
With it fully home them use something like a small right angle pick but file off the point on the pick otherwise you may ruin the new cover.
If you haven't done it then a small dab of grease on the trumpet end going into the ball will also help to make refitting the assembly a tad easier.

A piece of 1/8 welding wire bent into the shape of a shepherds crook works a treat to persuade the rubber into place
