Hi guys,

Just a quick question... i have a couple of sparco buckets to go into my busa build project and was wondering if I can bolt them straight to the floor and still have use of the sliders? Or should I go ahead and weld in some square tube and plates to bring the level up and make it all a bit stronger?

This was done on a mini van zcars build... and so I was wondering if it is required for me to do the same?

Check this thread in the motorsport section......

Personnally....mounting seats with brackets straight to the floor is not the best way.  You do need chunky spreader plates to reinforce the floor, but as you will see from the above link, even that doesn't stop the floor from deforming.

My preferred way is similar to the above photo...but with spreader plates on the inner sill and exhaust tunnel.  This photo is from Top Cat Customs rally car build and is the safe way to mount seats.  Thick walled CDS tube is used.  Think he sells the kits if you are interested.

His build thread.......http://www.theminifo...-project/page-2

whichever way you decide.....make sure its safe as you may depend on it one day.
