Hi all.

I just replaced my window regulator but the window winds really stiff.. So quick question.. Does anyone know if silicone spray and spray down the sides will help?

Cheers!

I dobt that's the issue if it was fine before with the same glass in the same channels. I'd whip the winder mech back out and try it in a vice to see if it's as stiff when it's not lifting glass (it won't be entirely the same without the weight of the glass). you could also lift the wingow by hand to see if it's sticking, maybe you dislodged the seal.

Silicone spray in the window rubbers really helps. Try that before anything else

Since I've had it, it has never worked right, it pretty much fell off and bent the mech and i've only just got round to replacing them. They're not majorly stiff, but I could do with it being a lot less stiff and moves freely.

When I lift it up using my hands it is still stiff so makes me wonder the window rubbers needs lubricated?

Yes to the silicone spray on the rubbers, I can vouch for that working, have you also applied any grease to the mechanism before fitting on both the cogs of the mech and the wheel sliders and the window channels themselves

nope i haven't! that is a must do before anything else really! I suppose I can do it without taking off the regulator? it was a real bugger to get on properly so i'll just stick my hand round haha!

thank you all for the pointers!

Is it easier to wind down than up?

I recall Ed China using a spray on window rubbers in an episode of Wheeler Dealers !
