Windscreen And Dash Fitting

I am refitting the interior now on my rebuild and have just been trial fitting the dash rails and new dash etc
Looking at the space I have a quick question to the mini experts
Am I better fitting the windscreen before or after fitting the dash top rail
There isn't a great deal of space once the top rail is fitted but I guess screens were replaced with it in situ but whilst I have it out which is the easier option?
Also is the screen fitting a straight forward DIY job I have seen a few videos on utube of it but wondered if anyone any suggestions. I have all the glass to do and am reverting to the fixed/sealed side windows too.
Cheers Glyn

Dash first then screen IMHO....
Front screen was the worst nightmare job of my whole rebuild.... Took me days....

Top rail crash pad first, as per factory. You don't need space around the inside of the seal to be able to fit the screen, you do need to be able to slot the rail in from above to do it easily. They can go in and out without removing the screen (at least the 3 stud ones can, I don't think the 4 stud ones will fit) and I've done it often, but its far easier if the screen isn't in the way.

Dash rail in first. With my screen in, I can't get my dash rail out (3 stud one) so I doubt you could put one in with the screen in place

You can:
Remove centre clamp, lift each end stud out of the hole and over the lip one at a time (you will have to bend it a bit), then roll the whole thing towards you and downwards. Unless they made the end studs much longer late in production, but this normally works.
It's a fiddly job though and is easier without the glass.

It's the centre stud for me that gets caught and i don't think I can lever it up any higher
