Does anybody know the sizes or part numbers of the 2 belts for a Jap Import, the fan belt and air con belts are what I am after.

This is an old topic but did you ever find the answer to that question? I am trying to source these two belts as well. Both are V-Belts, approx 3/8" wide. One is approx 36" and the other approx 23 1/2". My existing belts  have a Mistubishi (I think) part no of R1300A and R1300F respectively but they are faded and difficult to read.

I just changed the A/C belt on my 89 Japan spec 998. The closest thing I found was 1/2" wide by 38". 36" was way too short and 40" was way too big. The belt I got was a Gates 6838. The industry number is 4L380K. I'm in the US so I don't know if the numbering system is the same where you are.

The Japanese belt is Mitsuboshi not Mitsubishi. I thought the same thing until I got the belt clean enough. I have never heard of Mitsuboshi until it kept coming up on my Google search.

I was just changing my plug wires and looked at my belt again. 3/8" wide would be a better fit. My 1/2" wide belt will work but rides way out on the outside edge of the pulley. When I have to change it again I'll get a 3/8" belt. I also noticed that with the 38" length I'm near the limit of my adjustment. 37" might work better with 3/8" wide sense it will fit deeper into the pulley.

There's a Facebook group you can join called "Classic Mini Japan New & Used Parts" with a very knowledgeable gentleman named David Ainley. I might suggest you join the group and ask David if he knows the size. He likely can also source the part for you.
