Hello!

Quick one. If buying and fitting a solid state facet fuel pump, is there anything I should be aware of?

- As I understand it, they're gravity fed, so is the best place to mount them on the rear sub frame?

- Do I need to buy anything like a blanking plate for the existing fuel pump?

Cheers!

Yep they work best when gravity fed, I have mine mounted on a little plate bolted through the subframe.

Yes you need a blanking plate for the existing mechanical pump hole.

yes you will need a blanking plate for the block, the system is a suck/push throught system, but works better as a push through, I have mounted mine on the rear subframe hope this helps

Awesome cool. Thanks guys. I'll get everything ordered up now. Am I correct in thinking it's 1/4" hosing?

Also, do you guys just use the standard rubber hose, or braided stuffs?

Cheers!

Be very wary of the cloth braided 'fuel' pipe. It isn't fit for purpose and cracks in no time at all. What makes it worse is that the braiding hides the cracks. I would stick with a good quality fuel line from a motorfactors.

As said, dont use overbraid fuel hose. 1/4" hosing will be fine. Mount the fuel pump on a plate that bolts to the rear subframe, the solid state pumps have very little 'suck' to them. I use a filter before the pump and then one before the carburettor as well. The pumps dont like drawing any crap through them.

The solid state pumps need to be mounted at a 45 degree angle, to work properly.........

definitely notice the difference when it's gravity fed. I certainly did. Didn't sound like it was trying so hard

I always bolt mine to the underside of the rear seat horizontal panel, inside the LH inner edge of the rear sub-frame. I normally use two Facit pumps in parallel for best reliability with separate power supplies and separate fuses.

1/4" standard fuel hose is fine.
