If you could go back in time, and go to just one gig or one performance by an artist at a music festival, what do you think it would be?

I can't decide between Queen's 76 Hyde Park free gig or their 86 Wembley performance. Probably my favourite band.

I watched the 92 Nirvana performance at Reading last year on the screens. It was pretty epic to watch that many still going mental for them as if they were there on stage. I can't imagine many better things than going to rock concerts in 60s, 70s and 80s. There just seems to be something about them that is unsurpassed by any modern band.

I'm leaving for Reading in a few hours and I can't wait! The line up isn't as good as previous years but it should still be pretty good. Copious amounts of beer, silly hats, not washing properly for 5 days, camping and live music. I love it! I don't ever want to stop going.

Double easy: The Who blowing away the Stones with A Quick One.

Or pretty much any of Led Zeppelin's early gigs, pre-1972.

Woodstock:

Richie Havens, The Who (seen them twice), Ten Years After, Santana, Hendrix, Crosby Stills and Nash, Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell. The list goes on

If I had to limit it to only one band it would The Who Live At Leeds - I would fight tooth and nail to protect my original vinyl copy - Voted the greatest live recording many times

AAARRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHH! You caught me in mid-edit! Bugger!

No, not the whole thing. I saw this, the Who bit (from "The Kid's are Alright") a long time back before the Stones released it all.

Saw the Who twice at the NEC in '89. First half Tommy, second was hits. Over three hours both. Awesome. In the real sense of the word!

Hahaha whoops!

I saw them in Hyde Park in 2006 when I was 12. That was the first gig I ever went to and I was right at the front! I was absolutely blown away. Loads of people were commenting to my Dad that he was doing a good job if his 12 year old knew all the words to every song :D I saw them in June this year at the o2 when they did Quadrophenia which was incredibly well presented

How's Roger's voice holding up? I watched them perform at the olympics (on TV), and I thought they were great.

I was 17 at the NEC. I persuaded my history teacher to go too, as he was a die-hard Who fan from the sixties, and a Londoner.

He said then, "Aren't they getting a bit long in the tooth now??" LOL

That was on their 25th Anniversary tour. I still have the video from some gig in the US, with Phil Collins, Aretha Franklin, and I think Elton John doing Tommy.

But when I saw them, it was just them.

Crikey, I would have loved to have seen Led Zep in the early 70's but I'd only just been born

I saw Plant & Page at Glastonbury in ~96, not the same I know  but I'm glad I was in the same field as P&P :D

I saw/worked for Dread Zeppelin at Poly - they were class!!

My best gig would have to be The Cure @ Crystal Palace in 1990 (I think) supported by All About Eve (I had a nap  ), James & someone else & The Cure played for 3 1/2 hrs & were brilliant :D

a close 2nd would be Radiohead at Trentham Gardens around 2000 :D

or Fantazia '92 at Donington or countless nights out in '92. Not sure if that was the music tho'

ps. I'm currently listening to Queen & loving it :D

His voice is possibly better than ever! Love Reign O'er Me and 5:15 were spectacular

I've met Jimmy Page, I was next to him in the queue to go into the O2 for the Rolling Stones last year :D
