Hi all..

Well... I found a problem.... not the problem unfortunately....

clutchspring_zpsfd020e9b.jpg

The spring clip had fallen off and made a hell of a noise... it was a bit mangled so I swapped it out with the old pressure plate spring clip... so... that bit is ok but... the clutch is not disengaging.... I bled and adjusted the gap between the arm and stop and set the throw out as it said in the book...

So, no matter if I got the clutch engaged or disengaged, I have constant drive...

Got me beat... any ideas? I'll put up a help in drive line...

Cheers

Hi all...

Well, not had much luck with the clutch problem so far... I had a read of Cooperman's fault finder and have checked/done all of the list.

I stripped it all down again and found nothing out of the ord... I decided to fit the old flex plate back in just in case I missed something... it made a little of a difference but still cant select gears.. the only thing that isn't spot on is the amount of travel from the arm/slave cylinder. I have ordered a new clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and flex hose and will give that a go next time home.

Cheers

Hi all..

Well.. there was a box of goodies waiting for me when I got home... it was fathers day after all...  so had some shed time today...

I ended up replacing all of the clutch hydraulics and the brake master cylinder... gotta have them both the same... lol... I decided to go with the classic tin cans and am glad I did...

NewMasterCylinders_zps72a8b4ea.jpg

I also decided to leave the brake booster off to give me more room in the engine bay which let me relocate the windscreen washer bottle.... much better I think...

The clutch is sorted... for now... I can at least change gears but still crunches going in reverse... I dont know what else to try as the clutch just isnt as it was before I took the engine out... I cant work it out but it will do for now...

Cheers

I also prefer the tin master cylinders, there's just something about them! Great job.

Hi all...

Well.. got through a few jobs and hoping that I'm just about there to have a go at getting it licensed...

I got a permit to drive it today so was the first real drive I had in it and boy... it was so much fun!!!

It was running a bit hot so I changed the fan... I also replaced the thermostat and radiator cap and it seems to have made an improvement.. will find out tomorrow as I need to drive it to the exhaust shop to make it a bit more quiet... I think its a straight through and it is very loud...

There is always going to be something to do but I think Im just about there... Im happy with the result...

Thanks Jared...

Lets hope so anyway!! not driven it much to see but have had some fun so far... I have been driving it on a permit the past few days and having a ball!!! It passed inspection with flying colors which was great!!

Went down to the exhaust shop and we put another muffler on and its much better... its been good to drive it to give it a bit of a tune and just to see everything is ok...

Still getting hot when stopped in traffic and Im not 100% ok with the clutch... will look further into these as Im still waiting on paperwork... just a waiting game now but itching to get it out again... might have to buy another permit...  heehee..

Cheers
