I replaced my head gasket and when i hooked everything back up i accidentally switched the fuel in and fuel out tubes going to the carburetor. Once i realized it was set up wrong i switched them back, but when the engine finally started up i found out with a bit of carburetor cleaner that i have a vacuum leak somewhere on the the left side of the bowl on the carb. The car runs fine when i pull the choke out a bit, but when the choke is not out it dies at idle. I took the carb apart looking for anything obvious but all the gaskets and seals look ok. Anyone have any ideas?

Some HS carbs have emissions connections on the carb body. Looking at the carb body do you see any brass tubes that do not have hoses attached?
For example. see the carb pictured in the link below. Note the angled brass tube extending above the bowl lid. That typically is connected to the PCV system. If not used it needs to be capped.

That angled brass tube is connected to my crank case breather on the back of my engine. And no, there arent any connections not connected.

I had one that turned out to be that the little 90 degree rubber vacuum advance connector had perished and was a lose fit.
