Hey everyone, bit of a dumb question here. I have a 92 rover 1275 Auto. Below is a picture of the dash in its current state.

The knob to the right of the switch panel, is this my choke or is it related to my heater? If it's the former, would pulling it improve my acceleration/performance? I've noticed that the throttle is only opening up maybe 80%.

Stupid question, but I can't find an answer on this anywhere.

Thanks!

That's your heater. Chokes tend to be on the left of the switched. The blue arrow means when it's pushed in its cold air as the red arrow means when it's pulled out its heated. Hope this helps.

Ummmm, that's for your heater? I'm not sure on the later models but that's where mine is :P. Pulling out the choke doesn't improve performance, you use it when starting up from cold to push more fuel in then take it off when it's warm.

Also if you leave it out for ages you will flood your engine :P

Haha I knew it. I rarely use the heater or AC, plus the car is fuel injection so no chance its a manual choke. Thanks!

I gather this lever only control the vents on top of the dash near the windshield?

that lever allows water into the heater which then is blown out the bottom on the car mode, or the screen on the screen mode, the airvents at the ends of the dash only let in fresh air :) and no fuel injected cars dont have chokes :)
