Thought I would like to post a few pics of my 1962 deluxe, finished all welding and reskinned the doors, now have it in primer apart from roof and have guide coated it and flatted off so hopefully get it lower and paint the roof I had to make a few panels though as they were different to ones I could buy, the valence closing plates were totally different and used the originals as patterns

I have primed and guide coated it then flatted it back ready for top coat on all areas apart from roof as I need to lower the shell a little to get proper access to the roof so that's my next stage, no Rust in guttering though must have been one of the best shells I have seen as it needed very little panel work for its age.
I have had it for over twenty years though and never had it on the road, just decided it was a bout time I did something with it.

Will update as I do more although only spending half a day a week on it at present so progress is slow.

Just leaving it completely stock, so 850cc with single su carb. The car was original when I had it so a shame to spoil that. It is an early one with the grey fleck trim and chrome window catches. I don't understand the door kick trims though as they are plastic with chrome surround but are defo what was fitted from new.

I have another lined up for a refresh when I finish this one, a mk2 cooper with factory recliners and twin tanks, I restored it when I was 18 so approx 27 years ago, unfortunately was painted in synthetic so now I have been practicing on this one I want to strip it down and repaint it, only issues are as it was restored so long ago the panels available now were not about so it will never be perfect as it needs no panels replacing due to rust so can't really warrant cutting out good metal just to replace with better mini machine panels. But want to get it moving again as not been on road for about 15 years, I just moved onto better cars but couldn't sell my minis so just stored them. Am getting some interest back in them now so have invested some time and money in them. If it proves one thing it's that if the interest sways just put it away until it comes back as I would have regretted getting rid of them.

Stunning little car you have there. Very solid - always a good start. I like those door gaps as well.

Small update I spent a couple of hours finalising drivers door fit, just needed to reprofile the door skin at front edge as replacement magnum one was slightly different to original and was a little close to the a panel at bottom. Just got other side to do now. At least I can then prime the doors ready for paint.

Overall of door fit now think its good enough

Small update, after hours of sanding decided I wanted to put a bit of paint on mainly to ensure my compressor kept up with airfed mask and gun, which it passed the test. Never used 2k before but won't be using cellulose again. I haven't prepared hidden areas as good as outside so for standard of prep I am pleased with results. Hopefully mix some more paint next weekend and finish interior.
But 2k defo gives a good gloss with minimal effort.

Decided to put it back on the spit and finish underside off,

Also painted bootlid to test the finish from gun

Not sure if I did right thing but painted roof on side as well hoping it would be easier, only issue is I need more light I couldn't see properly with the airfed visor on and got a bit of orange peel, but no runs. Should flat with p1500 and polish up though
I did put 3 good coats on everything and was intending to flat the whole car after finished anyway.
I must say I love this 2k paint it goes on beautiful. I am only using a devilbiss sri pro as well as my compressor isn't big enough to run the mask and a gti. Hence why I am doing a panel at a time,
