Moved into other garage to have the engine refitted, I have an overhead hoist in there so once I get the angle of lift sorted should drop in ok

The simplicity of these cars still amazes me - loving it!

A bit slow on the rebuild mainly due to having to restore or buy loads of little bits to put back together, but am starting to break the back of it now, only need bumpers, carpets and front window seals to complete, then a good clean and polish.
I also need to get some tyres fitted on my restored original wheels. At last I can see the end though.
Doing my mk2 cooper next but after doing this should do the next better

Another small update but does make a big difference is door glass installed, forgot how awkward this job can be

Have ordered my carpet from mini centre, for some reason it's cheaper from them than direct form newton commercial, will have to see what else they do although there m machine full floor is a lot more expensive than going direct, which is my next investment when I start my cooper project

Hi ya Daz...

That is just AWESOME mate!!! the car looks great!! Can't wait to see it on the white wheels... Your build is certainly inspirational and you are more than doing your bit to conserve motoring history....

I think gone are the days when you were a Ford or Holden guy.. (well here in Oz) It don't matter what car you are into, its such a joy to see an old car brought back and driven on the road again... brings so much joy allot of people...

Cheers

Thanks, amazingly interior all original 1962 apart from carpet and rear wheel arch covers that were burnt from previous repairs,
There is a little wear in places but it's to good to replace with repro stuff, I have tried were possible to re use original parts on this car to retain as much originality as possible.

I really like that you've kept the originality of it all, gives it that real patina feel.

Update I have been waiting for, it moves under its own power, a bit dusty though, seems to run fine and gears and clutch all ok need to finish it off now but not far to go

Every stage I get to now though ends up costing money,
