hi I have an early DM2 distributor which has the metal folk on the points base plate. I have bought new 25D type points for it thinking they are compatible, however the plastic load tension lead (I think that's what it is called) doesn't fit as the fork is in the way, can I cut the folk off?!

Do what you need to fit them as long as the points are secured to the base plate and the centre points face isolated from its opposing and you can set the gap I dont see a problem, can you not get DM2 points anymore? have you spoken to the Distributor Doctor?

the points are the same, it is the plastic load tension lead that wont fit due to the metal fork on the breaker plate. I think I will cut it off, then they will fit.
