I have rebuilt my race engine and took it to the rolling road today.

The engine is a 1293cc

runs 7 port cast head

on jenvey throttle bodys

dta managment

8.5 psi boost

revs to 7900 limiter

on the laptop is says the injectors are maxing out at 6000rpm

i think the injectors are 285

are these or should they be big enough.

what do you guys run??????????????

that sounds correct, 285cc's will be about enoufh for 180 hp ish which is kind of in the ball park. really you need somthing about 340-380cc to give a bit of head room.

is your fuel pressure reg connected to the manifold so fuel pressue raises with boost? if not doing so will help a bit, or you can raise the fuel pressure a bit, but theres a limit to how far you can go,

there is no fuel pressure gauge on the car.

the regulator is in the rear of the car

there is a pipe which runs from the manifold back to the regulator in the rear of the car so i guess this is for that.

the man on the dyno today said that increasing the fuel pressure will affect the map on the lower end, well i think thats what he said.

so bigger injectors is the way togo then.

were will i find them foresale.

there for jenveys

trouble is, changing the injectors will also change the map lower down anyway, but yeah changing the injectors is the proper way to go.

got a pic of the injectors that are in it?

also,

ive used a new block, i didnt deck this block,

the old block measures 325mm, buts so does my new one. i measured them with a tape measure so my question is how tall is a standard A plus block and can you accurately measure them like this. and when decking a block how much is taken off????

the piston are omega turbo forged pistons like on med s website plus .20

the heads has 26cc from memory, so does the compression sound wright???

also ive used a bk450 head gasket this time instead of a kenectic one could this lower the compression????

decking a block you'll normall remove about 30 thou about 3/4mm

the BK450 wont make much difference to the C/R,

those pistons and that head are going to give a pretty low compression, about 7.3 maybe lower, I'd be aiming for high 7's with a charger, and at 8 psi boost probably mid 8's to 9:1

those injectors are known as "pico's" meaning they are shorter than normal ones, a look on ebay for fiat injectors might prove worth while.

if its maxing out at 6k all you'll do my running it higher is run the engine lean and risk melting somthing, in fact woth some ecu's when you reach 100% injector duty the fueling can go haywire!

will the bigger injectors make mapping difficult on the dta management at the lower end??????

saying this on track its never below 5500rpm, unless ive made a mess of something!!!!

you can run into issues with injectors that are too big in that essentiallyt you cant turn them off enough at idle, but for you thats not going to be an issue,

I have run those "yellow" 490cc pico injectors on my 1380 turbo and they were fine at low speed,
