Hello everyone,

Can anyone shed some light on the topic of distributors for a novice please? here is a pic below.

The distributor (as above) fitted on my 998cc 1984 automatic mini has: Ducellier 525889A stamped on its side.

I think its the original one unless austin rover did'nt fit these units? (I don't know) I would like to  replace it with a new one but could you tell me what make or model I should replace it with?

I don't know much about these things, but I'm learning more and more everyday - any thoughts or help would be appreciated as always

Kind regards

Chris + Family

Hi Chris yes British Leyland did indeed fit Ducellier Distributors to there A Series Minis, they can be a source of trouble with worn bearings though and you can speak to Powersparks who will sort you out a new one which will be a new unit based on the Lucas Design .  Ask to speak to Simon and say your a member of The Mini Forum http://www.simonbbc....b5cd37198bd9ebc
