So i had a go at carbon wrapping (damn it is an ass!!)

The boot used to be silver, but since i have gone for a silver/black theme with carbon wrap stripes on the front i thought the boot may not look to bad if i had ago. Just in 2 minds whether i like it or not. What do you guys think?

gay as a turnip.

Never like any 'fake' wrap.

I do like the black boot lid though, but would be nicer in real carbon IMO

No one does proper carbon panels for the mini, they do carbon-look panels.

The only one who can do proper carbon stuff is carbon wheezel.

Carbon wrap will look better on something like a dashboard than on exterior parts imho

Ah i see. I did think about doing the dash, but the boot was easier to remove than my dash

This was kind of a test too, i have never wrapped a panel before, only done silly things which are basic in shape. Because this curves both ways it made it hard. I will probs leave it for a few days, see what i think then. I am really unsure if i like it or not.

I said a slightly less polite word, but a mod changed it  :proud:

I'm saying that I do like the contrast, but not the fact it's wrapped. Faking it's not cool.

Lots and lots of places sell real carbon fiber panels. Not cheep though. try ABS motorsport, carbon weezels, arc angels.

Lots of different types of weaves, gelcoats and resins are used though, so do your research if you're thinking about it

They're carbon-look, essentially GRP convered in kevlar or carbon and far away from real carbon

Real carbon costs an arm and a leg, lets call things with the proper name

Carbon wheezel can do full carbon parts, will cost you more than your car though.

Yeah i agree - faking isnt cool. I just like the effect.

I have the facilities at work and know how how to actually produce moulds if i wanted too, It is just time consuming and getting the motivation to actually get off my bum and do it.

Do it do it do it!

I'm making one myself too. essentially a mk1 lid, without the cutout for the number plate light  :D don't think anybody produces these, so I'm doing it myself.
