Wasn't really sure whether to put this in the Mini section or others but I guessed that because it's technically not a Mini I'd stick it in here!

My idea was randomly thought of in February when my fiancee told me I was in charge of the table plan for our forthcoming wedding...

So basically, I have made a desk out of a Mini flip front, which will act as a table plan (I've made a styrofoam and card traditional plan) which will stand at the back of the desk, and also act as a guest book signing area for later on!

The lights and indicators will be working too!

Here's a current pictures (the table plan isn't fitted yet!)

It started off life as this fibreglass flip front bought off a member on here:

Lining up with some spare MX5 wheels to get an idea of how it will look:

Fitting some of the parts after mounting the fibreglass to the desk:

(Wheel hubs from Triumph dolomite redrilled for Mini PCD but they are nice and simple to fit to the desk!)

Some primer applied - this is before I cut the rear of the wings off square:

In the paint booth (colour chosen was a 1995 Mitsubishi colour as it's pearl and not too purple like some other dark blues!):

The table plan itself which I also made myself using styrofoam and card:

Once it's all assembled I'll get some more pictures up! Hope you all like it!

Thanks all for the nice feedback - I am now back from the honeymoon and so will share some pics of it finished!

Jereon; the paint code is "Nissan BW6 Dark Blue-Met.GN"

I had the headlights on and the indicators flashing throughout the night and I even made the A1 sized plan myself out of styrofoam and card!

The table plan looked awesome in the venue but even better still, the venue manager let me put my actual Mini inside too (amazed my wife allowed this...)

Here's the pics:

How on earth did you persuade her to allow your mini inside!

Congratulations!

Is that card in front of the mini to hide the oil leak ?  :shifty:

Oh yes... Had ALOT of card trays and paper underneath to catch the oil!
The venue didn't want a drop on their lovely clean floor!

Congratulations!

I'm not sure really, it was a last minute plan suggested by the manager of the venue which we both just went with (I was happy as it meant the Mini was locked away over night rather than just the car park!)

Although when the manager suggested showing classic minis racing and such stuff on the projector during the dinner she did put her foot down and say no to that! All the tables were Mini names too so I am very lucky she is so understanding!
