I'm having to top up the dash pot almost every time I drive my mini, is there any seals or anything in there that it could be leaking from?
Thanks

are you sure its leaking? It could be that you've over filled it and it has dropped to the correct level when driven. you could try topping up again then leaving for a few days. Check reguarally as you may find that it will drop the first day then stay at the same level from then on.

I would usually have to top it up every day, and if its not topped up the car tends to bog down, once it's topped up the car goes fine

If it continues to draw all the oil out then it points to the machine fit between dashpot and slide being worn.

so what would this mean? a service kit for the carb or a new hs4 needed?

You have to fill up only the piston, which is the inner tube you can see once you remove the damper, and not to the top by the way.

Bogging down if you dont fill up above to this level means you need a thicker oil.

If you undo the three screws and take off the dashpot it will become obvious where you need to fill to and how it all works. Any excess oil is simply sucked into the intake and burnt off.
