An old trick that sometimes works on older radios (worked for me on an Rover unit years ago)... stick it in the freezer overnight. If you are lucky it'll reset back to a default PIN code... try the common ones such as 0000, or 1234.  Might not work but worth a try and costs you nothing.

As a specialist in decoding I have never known that work.  Also you only get 10 attempts at the code on most radios and the time between each unsuccessful attempt very often doubles.  When all the attempts are used up the radio is effectively u/s.  Rarely, unless I reset a code, is the code an obvious 1234, 0000, etc.  There are 10000 potential codes. :shades:

People often say this about various things but I don't think there are any forms of non volatile memory that can be erased by freezing.  There are a few that can be erased by boiling, but boiling the radio would be a terrible idea!

As an engineer working in the electronics industry I was a skeptical as the next man about this urban myth (freezing wiping NV RAM and resetting PIN code), but it did work for me on a 1997 Rover radio-cassette player. It doesn't cost anything to do so surely it's worth a try - even if only for 0000 and 1234 (i.e. use up two out of your ten attempts)?
