I've got 12 x 5 alloys and want to put them with sportspack arches, I already have them so looking for a solution rather than selling and buying different wheels. I've read that Binge has this on his Mini and has 2" spacers, but Liz at PLMINIS says "It puts a lot of pressure on wheel bearings track rod ends steering etc", so not sure what to do now, is that true or is she just trying to get me to buy new wheels from her?? :dozing:

My car is currently in the garage having the arches put on - amongst other things - so hoping the spacer thing is the cure. Please someone tell me it's safe to do that, I mean they wouldn't make spacers that big if it wasn't safe to use them and some spacers i've seen say not to be used on the front wheels!

Help!

Do not use 2" spacers on a disc braked Mini. You might get away with it if you had non spacer drums but even then it's pushing it a bit.

I toyed with the idea of spacers, they will put strain on things, and there a cheap salution. But 3/4 spacers will not do much as the sportspack arch is so big. I would save up and go for 13x7s i did its worth it. look on ebay some will come up at a good price.

Hmmm, I'm going to be a mum soon so thats really an option anymore! Wouldn't look that bad if i just had the wheels put on without spacers, depends what look you want, they'd look better than the wheels i currently have so i'll go with that.
