I've come into possession of a 2002 civi 1.6 vtec. It's stripped inside as was being converted for rally.

I want the engine for a conversion, what do I need to keep before I scrap the rest?

Hello Wilks

It entirely depends on how you plan on doing the rest of the build i.e. how you are gonna fuel it, electrics etc. The following should make life a lot easier:

  • Engine
  • Gearbox
  • Both Looms (engine/interior)
  • Driveshafts/CV's
  • Ancilleries (alternator etc)
  • Gearlinkage,
  • Engine mounts,
  • Any pipes/hoses
  • Radiator
  • Maybe gauges depending on what you want to use
  • Maybe fuel pump.

If you've got the room and are scraping the car you might aswell keep as much as possible but the above will help with the conversion

Hope this helps

Kieran

Thanks bud, think I'm gonna get rid of all the stripped parts and just keep the car complete until I need bits.
