hi everyone, when i go out for a drive i can hear a knocking noise coming from the near side front wheel. it only happens when i go over bumps, but it sounds quite worrying, i had the car up on the ramps and checked everthing, the ball joints look greased and are tight and were new about 18k miles ago, the tie rod end looks good too, the shocks are adjustable spax and they are on a firm setting, it also has hi lo's fitted, the only thing i can see is that the top arm is only about an inch off the bump stop as opposed to the 2 inches on the other side, its got the 10 inch wheels with 7.5 discs any help much appreciated thanks alex

the suspension has dropped on that side, check the knuckle joint and also check that the damper is on the stud properly, mine was banging away with a couple of mm between the nut and damper

Point where the suspension cone (ally bit not the rubber bit) meets the upper arm.

oh yes, i know what you mean now, the knuckles are brand new and greased up too looking at the car the drivers side looks like its lower than the passenger side, even though there is more clearnace on the bump stop on the drivers side... confusing, its got hi los but adjusting them are a bit of a pain without taking a wheel off
