Hey guys I'm looking for a few helpful hints on how to fit a windscreen. I have it in and the photo be low shall show how far, or close I anti having it complete. But in stuck =[ can't get the thing to budge what so ever. There's a video on YouTube of how to fit it and ye guy uses screwdrivers =O terrible but he has the same problem with the same corner and his just pushes in. Mine won't budge even with force, darnt push any harder in fear of braking the glass anyhow.

Any advice?

silicon lub (or KY jelly) can help alot with this, as well as getting a plasic spatula (i used a bike repair plasit tool thingy)

Can you wiggle it over from the opposite then push it back in? I changed mine a month ago and didn't have a problem (very surprised!) I just used some washing up liquid around the rubber seal and it slid into place

  Don't use washing up liquid anywhere near a car.

 

  It looks like it's inside the seal already, you just need to wiggle it around all over until it lines up into the right position.

I sympathise - it was the worst job on the whole of my resto... Is it a new seal...?

As others have said, *koff* Personal Lube *koff* and plastic tyre levers from a cycle puncture repair kit....

 

THEN you have the fun of getting the locking strip in!

Thanks for the tips, I have tried moving the thing over, can't get the thing to budge in any direction! Using plenty of car soap but still no luck =[. The one item I normally turn to when I'm stuck, the hammer!! I can't use on this job =[

I had this with the rear screen, front was fine on mine. I too used a bicycle tyre lever & lots of creamy soap. Generally I just pushed the screen inwards to get it the last part after the seal was over the glass. Used palms of hands to spread the weight. Check & see if it's properly in on all the other corners.

Use plastic putty knives or spatulas to lever the rubber over the edges.  KY Jelly is perfect for the lubricant.  And... do invest in the lockstrip installation tool or spend the time to make your own. Don't try to force the lockstrip in with screwdrivers.
