I had been more or less promised a rolling cooper shell without doors boot bonnet or interior after some major discussion for a reasonableish price...however I have not heard from the fella in over a month despite him being online(on other forums) =(

I was considering repairs of my current shell, it needs AT LEAST:-

o/s full sill

o/s wheel arch repairs(big hole where it should attatch to body) as well as the body bit near subframe mountings

Front panel(the one on is more or less new...but it is very poorly fitted)

rear valance, box sections and some boot floor...as well as the hinge panel

Will this load of panels and welding cost me an arm and a leg? the car is not driveable at the moment so I would probably need someone to come and give me a professional quote :dozing: Feeling quite down in the dumps over it at present!

see how unreliable these other forums are!? Now you know why TMF is the greatest! :dozing:

Sill & wheel arch repairs aren't bad. panels will prob be around £70. Front panels are around £50, and I would guess the rear panels would be in the £100 ball park. That's about £250. I do my welding myself, but I would normally say that to cut and weld panels in is around 2x the price of the panel itself, so you're probably gonna be looking in the £750 range (before paint). However, that is a guesstimate. Call a couple of body shops and see if they could come and have a look. Some do, some get shirty about it, but you never know 'till you ask!
