Is the 'push rod' on the end of the servo type brake pedal removable, or is it spot welded on? (but obviously in such a way that it can still spin)

just fitted a servo to a none survo peddel box

one end has a pin that you can remove

and the other pin you cant

its spot welded on as you say

I think its the peddel end

that you can remove the pin from

and yes a split pin

This is exactly what I found (although the spot welded end is the pedal end) not a disaster as I bought a pedal box as well, just means great fun with shear bolts

This is what you will find:

It's like a rivet, but it means if you're getting rid of your servo, you have to change the pedal box as well, luckily, I bought a pedal box at the same time so it wasn't much hassle apart from the shear bolts, drilled out and ground off the clamp one, and tapped round with a screwdriver the two going through the dash rail, then replaced them with normal 5/16 bolts, then discovered that a socket's wall is too thick and had to do it 1 flat at a time with a open ended spanner.

A bit of advice to anyone who is planning on fitting a metro master cylinder to a mini, the plate that is held down by the 4 studs which hold the pedal box to the clutch and brake master cylinder and the top engine steady needs 'adjustment', the hole is offset because the way the servo 'linkage' works
