Mini Copper Mpi Running Prob

Hi any body got any idea my mini was fine until yesterday I fitted two new engine mounts jumped it to drive it it started ran for about 5seconds cut out wont start leave it for a couple of mins then it starts and cuts out

first thing check the cut off on the bulkhead

Hi as any one help me my mini mpi starts for around five seconds then cuts out try to restart it it won't start .if I leave it for two mins it will then start but cuts out after five seconds checked fuel cut off not that

You need to go back over the areas you have worked and see what you might have disturbed, check for breaks in wiring, the relays andearth wires. Make sure you can hear the fuel pump running, check the main relay unit by the servo as it contains the fuel pump relay, I think they are cheap enough to buy new, also check the connector behind the air filter that goes through the bulkhead as that has the wiring for the fuel pump.

I think I know what I have done forgot to disconnect the battery before I took the ecu off I think this is the prob any one got any idea what I have to do now

I've removed the ecu without disconnecting the battery a few times with no ill affects.

Can you here the fuel pump prime after its cut out?

Hi the pump is running all the time it sounds like its run out of petrol but it has not as I got a full tank of petrol the pump does not prime up it running as soon as you turn the key but its always been like that since a bought the car

Well that does sound odd - the pump not priming but running straight away. Ignoring that for the moment - is the fuel getting to the injectors and are they squirting?

You should be able to hear the fuel rail pressuring and the injector solenoids clicking

Sorted it wire broken to ECU up and running again
