looking good, but 1 step at the time.....

hi all small update

 

got a little more done to the mini we got the hing panel made and welded in but i forgot to pic of that before i welded the a/panel on . but we had agood day we got the new a/panel and sill weld on to , all thats left to do now is weld a small plate in the back floor pan and then we can start welding the n/s and i am hoping there is alittle less welding on that side ha ha .

 

and on saturday the engine is comeing out so that can be cleaned and painted , so more pics soon .

Its been a while since Wayne updated this, Just goes to show how busy he has been with work lol,

Anyway as he has been inundated with work lately he asked me if I would give him a hand to get the Mini finished,  

 

Most of the prep work was already done to be fair, I just had a few bits of filler work to do around the car and then it was time for a complete rub down both inside and outside of the Mini as the new owner wants a complete colour change,

Today was the day for its first coat of primer and so after a good cleaning off it was time to get it all masked up and in the oven.

The areas you see protected by the brown paper have already been painted,

This one actually now belongs to a customer who has bought it for his Mrs and so the colours etc have been picked by themselves.

It is to be kept pretty standard obviously bar the colour change and its wheels it no longer looks like the 25th Anniversary model but hey the customer gets what they want !!

The buyer wasn't keen on a red Mini and so at there request it has been changed,

Here is a couple of pics that I took today while building it back up, Just awaiting on the arrival of a few bushes so as I can get the front suspension in and build up the hubs etc.

This has come in today, A customers V6 hot-rod in for a full paint but before it gets any paint as you can see there is still quite a lot of prep to do first and so I shall be cracking on with this over the next few days in between the Mini build up.

And here he is guys, Taxed, Mot`d and bringing a smile to the face of its new owners who were more than overjoyed when it came to the handover today..

I'm sure you will agree its turned out quite nice, a cute little Mini may I add

 

Wayne has just taken delivery of another Mini, this time a Ritz that has been stored away for several years, It too will be getting a complete overhaul, this time thou no colour change but a respray in its original colour Silver, the customer wants it totally stripped, repaired, repainted and rebuilt for his daughter to use as her first car,  We will open a new thread for it as soon as it gets underway
